The Great Gatsby - A Definitive Novel

The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald has been praised and admired for it’s literary superiority as an American novel for many decades now. But over time the language and lingo of youth has been turned into a degenerative mockery of the cool and wistful illustrations that color books such as Gatsby.

As not many know, the name Gatsby, as popularized by the title, is not a place nor an event in history (though just as interesting). He is a man who symbolizes the social and moral turmoils of the 1920’s.
When the tumultuous event of WWI had already taken many young men’s lives and just such an event was again on the horizon, the American people were being pushed into Prohibition. Many bootleggers were making good use of this event, selling intoxicating products from across tight lipped drug story counters and making more money than ever before in the business of nefarious acts.
A young business man, Nick Carraway, enters the world of West Egg, a beach front commnity that sits to the side of East Egg. After visiting his beautiful and newly married cousin, Daisy Buchanan, in West Egg, he finds that her marriage to ex-football player Tom is not all that it seems to be as Mr. Buchanan takes him into his friendly confidence.

All the while bubbly and effervescent conversation distill the best of the rich and successful who come on and off again for the weekend parties that color the Gatsby mansion. Through the richly dolled out story, betrayals and long-told lies reveal themselves through Gatsby’s reapperance into Daisy’s life, the carefully balanced lives of the characters are in turn, flipped sideways with the knowledge of the others pasts.
The highly detailed plot, though without a definitive ending, reveals to the reader a story of unquestionable faith in a life hardly worth living, leaving the reader with a feeling of unfinished business and a vague aftertaste. But nonetheless, the heavily written descriptions of a 1920’s American summer are the highlight of this very readable novel and a rare piece of decadence for everyone to enjoy.
Adolescents rarely ever use such buoyant and vivacious words as poignant or crimson these days and in many ways it’s a shame. The credibility of such a novel came by way of the poetic and awe inspiring images that pop out at the reader from the pages and take them to another world, another time. Now that this language is mostly dead and shoved away for more modern ideas and practices, the last of great literature is still on the dusty bookshelves of old libraries waiting for you to pick them up and take you places you’ve never been.

Sidenote: A Baz Luhrmann production of The Great Gastby is also set to hit theaters in December 2012, starring Leonardo Dicaprio, Tobey Maguire and Carey Mulligan.

The Lucky One by Nicholas Sparks

I never would have chosen this particular book out myself, but with the superior recommendations of my dear friend Zachary, I read, devoured and anticipated every next page of this book, all the while falling in love with the main character; Logan Thibault. Although it was a fairly easy book to read with all of the witty remarks and characteristics that the wonderful Mr Sparks has built into the characters, I still shakily anticipated the worst in the plot line, only to find that everything I wanted to happen, did happen, which very much pleased me.
The characters, especially the "Bad Guy" made me feel serious emotions for the fate of the story. It was almost like a movie that kept you so engrossed that you don't even realize that you were sitting in a theater with popcorn and a Dr. Pepper at your side until the lights turned on and your realize that the story that you thought was your life, was over (which I always hate when that happens, it's so sad). I recommend this book to anyone that loves a good and realistic novel with characters that you can just as easily hate or love with every fiber of your being as you could love a chocolate chip cookie, or hate the cookie monster.
Thank you Mr Sparks, for bringing yet another wonderfully amazing love story into my life that will reassure that anything that happens in reality will never really be as good as what you can type in one sentence.

The Paris Wife by Paula Mclain

The Paris Wife is a beautiful and sweeping novel that I fell in love with after just reading the back cover. The novel is in Hadley's perspective as the first wife of famous novelist and Pulitzer Prize winner Ernest Hemingway, the story starts with her seeing him as Ernest, a scared and out of luck boy with really cute dimples and a dream of becoming a professional writer. After getting married, they move to 1920's Paris. The place where the epitome of artists in the Jazz age flocked to get a deep seat for the French culture and cheap exchange rate that existed in the pre-Depression era.
As the novel goes through the motions of gorgeously written prose and detail, hints at betrayal and hurt feelings reveal themselves through Jazz Age talk and Hadley's rising suspicion of a cheating husband.
I give The Paris Wife a 1000 of 1000 and recommend it to any literary fan that enjoys a good rise and fall plot that leaves you crying like a baby at the end and leaves you with a void that can only be filled by reading the beautiful pages over and over again.

Well here we go again....
This is a video I made a couple years ago just for kicks and giggles. No really, I was in serious mode about breaking into the Fashion Industry back than... I can just imagine my 13 year old self becoming a big fashion mogule, bossing models around and paying incredible amounts of money for haircuts. Haha, yeah good times. Anyways, the pictures are gorgeous, but my editing skills back than were less than amazing if you know what I mean. It does go great from like 1:17 to 1:26 or something like that. Sorry about the blurry photos every now and than. I was only 13.

Some advice for the unwise, Do not, I repeat, do not let the girl who doesn't usually drink caffeinated beverages chug like three of them before bed time. It can, and in my case cause such symptoms as;

Laughing at extremely boring and lifeless objects

Staring at the wall thinking about heaven knows what

Imagining how funny Llamas would actually look in hats

Well at least I can finish a much needed to be finished Apush Essay!

Water for Elephants Movie Review!

Water for Elephants was definetely one of the best books that I had read this year. So of course, I was super duper excited to go see the thing. And lo' and behold, the movie was JUST AS GOOD!!!!! It was one of those rare times that the movie actually held up to the book!!! I was really scared there for a second that the movie was gonna be horrible, but with Robert Pattinson in a role that wasn't sparkly Edward Cullen, I thought that it at least had a chance! Plus it was 30's era based , so of course that sparked another interest in me. Plus I like his haircut for some weird reason.......

I loved the whole Circus theme, It made me want to be a little kid eatin' caramel popcorn watching a fantastic circus go on before my eyes. All in all, it was wonderful. I loved the beautiful Elephant that they cast. It makes me wish I could ride an elephant around town and show her off. Anyways, if anyone hasn't seen it, I suggest it highly, and I also rate it 99 out of 100 Elephants. If you don't know what all the hypes about, Watch the Trailer cause I don't have enough time to tell you word for word. I gotta go write a report....

Just finished this one, and must say, It was fantastical. I had only ever read the Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants from this wonderful Author, and those were really good too, but delving into something different from her was great. She is a fabulous writer with great insight to detail that no one else would think to write about. I also love how her books aren't about famous people or even really, famous events, just normal things that happen everyday. I adore how the characters are telling you the viewpoint also, it really gives you the chance to get to know them like a best friend.

No, it is not Alex Pettyfer. No it is not a Designer Dress and no, it is not my Cat.
I am in love..... with Julia Child.
Shocking, I know, but just let me explain before you go to conclusions that I am a weirdo who like to stare dreamily into old ladies eyes.
I am love with her cooking. And at the moment her L'OMELLETE ROULEE. If none of you know what this little treat is, it is french for Rolled Omelette. And it is truly a delicacy.
I first fell in love with Julia Child when I saw the trailer for the movie JULIE AND JULIA. Oh how wonderful the story is that encapsulates this wonderful woman and all of her french foody goodness. If you have not yet seen this movie I suggest that you head straight to your T.V. (for I dearly hope you have Netflix), and see it on Instant Play.
I won't make you read about the whole thing at this moment, I'll let the Trailer do that for me, but I do want to tell you all that if you have not yet bought this wonderful book called Mastering the Art of French Cooking, than I really hope that enjoy your pre-packaged pizzas and Cinnobuns you Mongrels. For it is your fault that America (if your American that is) has become some of the saddest, fattest people on Earth. Why do you think that Italians are fat, yet the happiest, proudest people on Earth??? It's because they know how to cook some of the most revered food and their damn well proud of it.
Julia Child went to france and found cooking because she wanted to do something, and be proud of it. That's why I thorougly enjoy her company while reading my copy of Mastering the Art of French Cooking.

Since about a couple of weeks ago at my sometimes annoying, sometimes more annoying school, I have been working on an internet project for my Web Page Development Class (Fancy name right?). I did two projects, my first was a project that I did to just get used to the new and exciting WORDPRESS! The second was my Final (and I mean, FINAL! I got a grade on it and everything).

I did my first one on myself and my Musical Interests!

Danny Pudi, Oh, How many wonderfully strange things I could say about you. I first realized how totally mind blowingly awesome you were when I first saw Community as Abed. I just have to say, I would give up a chance at Alex Pettyfers Abs to be your Bestest Friend in the whole wide world, and that's sayin' something! Than you just had to go and astound me with your accent on Ghetto Prom Emporium. You are my One and Only Danny Pudi........ (Warning for the Ghetto Prom, it's kind of PG-13ish rated). Heres another link to one of my favorite scenes on Community, It's after the Halloween episode where Abed dresses up as Batman and fakes his voice the whole time. I love how they talk about waking up like a doughnut! And now for a re-enactment of thier conversation; Troy: That's one of my biggest fears.Abed: What is? Troy: If I ever like, woke up as a Dougnut.Abed: You would eat yourself Troy: I wouldn't even question it!

I also really love the one where Abed tricks Troy into thinking that he Abed made it into the Cartoon world - "Where Animals can talk, Hearts are shaped like Hearts and the smell of Pie can make you Float"

Theres also one episode where in the background of like half the scenes, you see Abed befriending a pregnant lady, getting into a fight with her boyfriend, and helping her give birth, I love those little quirks in the show, It gives it the nice kind of flavor I enjoy.

As the long and agonizing school week of four day came to an end, I packed my giant bag of necessities and headed to the great city of Salt Lake, Utah for a couple days of Pure Awesomeness! Since where I live, Its about -20 all the flippin' time, I was Super Duper excited to get some much needed and deserved Vitamin D....,

I absolutely adore this Temple, and not just because it's everything my ancestors worked towards, but because it's undeniably Gorgeous!

All in all, we did a LOT of Shopping, a LOT of Eating and NOT a lot of sleeping....

Eating Breakfast at the Little America (it's a Fancy Hotel in case you didn't know). =) Yum, French Toast with Lots and LOTS of whipped Butter and your own little Syrup Tea Cups.........

My Delicious Cupcake from the bestest, most awesomest, girly store ever, Dear Lizzie. I even told my guy friend that its where Girl Heaven is located and that it's where they go to get away from all the nonsensical things in the world...
If you ever go there, you must, must must (I can't stress this enough to make you understand without you doing it!!!) to get a Dizzy Lizzy!!!! You wont regret it....... Aaaaah, just thinkin about it makes me feel like floating on a Whipped Cream Cloud........

I Am Number Four Review!

A while ago, I finally convinced my parents to take us to see I Am Number Four. Admittedly, It was all pretty much for Alex Pettyfer and his sexy Abs, but after watching it, I just knew that I had to highly recommend that all people go see this movie. Ever since that fateful day at the movies, I have been fantasizing just about reading the book because it was so good.... Now if your not into the Nerd Stuff that I put on here, than I can understand if you would say to yourself - 'What kind of girl is this to think that I would be into that Crap!', if you say that, than you should probably go get some help, maybe attend an Anger Management Class. But for the sake of all things holy, if you don't go for the Aliens, go for the Abs, If not for the Abs, go for the Killer Soundtrack, if not for anything else, go for the Awesome Visuals. I'm absolutely in love with all four of these things, and just having them clumped together makes it all the more enjoyable for me.... Tee Hee (That last part was because I was thinking about Alex's Abs.

Im not sure if this is one I took, or my mother, since we traded off taking pics at this place. Its Gorgeous huh! It was a lazy Sunday and my Mother (the one in the family who actually owns the camera wanted to go take pics at the Elk Refuge in Jackson Hole, Wyoming while my brother, sister in law, niece and also (soon to be) other Sister in law. I love the way the sunlight hits the mini lakes.

This is the picture that I am actually dying to buy Canvas Style.... I wish I could find the owner of this picture. Whoever you are, thanks for making my dreams come true. I might still need to do some work on it though......

The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover. I mean, It's seriously way too gorgeous for a book cover.

The second thing was the story. I fell in love with the feel of the late 1800's New York background. It felt so right for the story that was being told. All of the characters just felt so real and tanglible. I espiecally liked the character of Diana.

The story opens up with the sad scene of the funeral of Elizabeth Holland. She was soon to be married to Henry Schoonmaker. She is surrounded by her mother, sister Diana and her many friends who are shocked and startled from Elizabeth's early departure from life. After scoping the scene out and discerning who's who, the story unfolds than several weeks before Elizabeths death.

This visionary and delectable story has the makings of Gossip Girl and The Age of Innocence stamped all over it. I think im gonna rate this story a 10. Here's the link - Luxe by Anna Godbersen

Next on my list is a little book called Bright Young Things, Also by Anna Godbersen and also a period drama, but this time set in 1929 New York.

I took these photos a couple weeks ago. I was just hanging out at my house and when i looked outside i saw this really cool looking red light that was just above the mountains. So of course I took some pictures. In the trees, with the horses. I even joked with my mom that one picture (That i saturated a lot) looks a lot like the figure of Jesus (or as i like to pronounce it like the Spanish do; Hesus).

This weeks photographer of the week is none other than the wonderfully talented and entrancing Tim Walker. He was born in England in 1970 and is currently living in London. At age 25 he shot his first Vogue fashion story and ever since than has shot countless British, Italian and American stories ever since. He has won the ‘Isabella Blow award for Fashion Creator’ by The British Fashion Council in November 2008. Walker also received the Infinity award from The International Center of Photography in New York in May 2009 for his work as a fashion photographer.

Sundays at Tiffany's was on my top ten list of books that were crying out desperately for me to read them. Now its on my list of books to keep in the back of the closet near the clothes that you know you'll never fit into, but keep anyways just in case you miraculously lose twenty pounds. It was an endearing book, but nonetheless, didn't keep up to the expectations that I shoved onto it. I defiantly had a couple good laughs with the witty writing that filled its pages, but slowed ever the more down as I surprisingly winded my way down to the last page on the second day of owning it. My sister-in-law will probably not like me saying this (hopefully she doesn't read this thing), but it wasn't one of my 'put on the top shelf on my trophy case just so i can stare at it' books. The characters were very interesting, but Jane (the main character unfortunately) was a sad, lonely broken down case of a person and I hated reading about her. I have enough problems in my

own life without needing to read about hers(although i did enjoy it when she finally learned to stand up for herself). The Author really didn't do his job very well with telling his audience about Imaginary Friends and that bugged me. I didn't know about the next guy, but i like knowing about my imaginary characters and their stories. Heck, i think ill just write about Michael myself for heavens sake (Please excuse my french, i just watched Napoleon Dynamite....).

There also was a couple PG-17 things in there, so that's probably another reason i didn't like it. They dropped the F-Bomb a couple times, but luckily just with the character Hugh and there was a 'Honeymoon' scene during the end, luckily though its short and it doesn't matter if you skip it. I hate it when they put all the important information in the sex scenes, its like the writers are telling you that you can either be a Christan baby or get the information you need to understand whatever the heck is going on in the next chapter and be scarred the next time you close your eyes to go to sleep. Or you could just be a cheater like me and barely skim the surface like a 1% Milk reader. If that even makes sense, probably doesn't. Hey when you got onto the

blog, you read the title. I didn't put 'Tumultuous' and 'Mumblings' there for no reason. Anyways, next book on my list is a little something called 'Water for Elephants' and my expectations are soaring like a flying monkey on the Wizard of Oz or something else that can fly really high. I'm currently in the middle of a little book called 'Luxe' and so far its been something like a 4 and a 6/8 stars out of five. I suggest you go buy it right now. Oh and i also have to finish the seventh Jacky Faber book called a name that i cant remember.

So after a stressful three full weeks of school after a whole lot a' break (We have a stupid schedule here), I finally finished 'Never Let Me Go' by Kazuo Ishugaro. Reading between lessons and during lunch really pay off when your in a time crunch with homework and you just have to read this really cool book that you've been dying to read for months now. Wow, that was a long sentence, at least it was in my head. Its like I ran out of breathe or something writing it, Haha. Well anyways, after seeing the trailer on YouTube, and getting instantly hooked to this sad, unrealistic love story, I knew I had to read the book to really understand the Trailer. Well here's a synopsis from Amazon since I don't write these things very clearly;

" All children should believe they are special. But the students of Hailsham, an elite school in the English countryside, are so special that visitors shun them, and only by rumor and the occasional fleeting remark by a teacher do they discover their unconventional origins and strange destiny. Like the students of Hailsham, readers are "told but not told" what is going on and should be allowed to discover the secrets of Hailsham and the truth about these children on their own."

It was, truthfully, a little weird and just a tad annoying not knowing ever thing that was going on during these peoples lives. You honestly had little or no idea of where the story was headed, and even though I wasn't totally satisfied with the ending, I was extremely glad I took lots of lunch hours and in-between-class-breaks to read it. It was made up of just some great writing (the kind i hope to write when im older), It made me want to go to Hailsham and The Cottages, Norwalk and especially go to the Abandoned Ship just to see the sights that these characters did and try to imagine what they were thinking when they went there. Even though I don't like Sci-Fi (at all), Kazuo Ishugaro blended the mix of 'Normal' and 'Just-Plain-Weird' to make a group of misunderstood teenagers seem 'Interesting-Enough-To-Not-Have-To-Shy-Away'. I do have to warn anyone wanting to read this though, that are some referances that aren't really good for reading out loug for kids, Its not anything That bad, just dont say you havent been warned.

Thank heavens theres a Movie, although, it's R. I hate it when things are like that. Ah well, guess I'll just have to stick to clips and trailers and Soundtracks and Books.

November 26, 1994, at exactly midnight, i was born. And now 16 years later, I'm just as much of a dork (if not more so) as I've always been. Over the years, I've accumulated a lot of things and hope to accumulate even more great things in the future. I can just imagine myself, 16 years from now, sitting in the exact same spot, writing about what i did for my 32nd b-day. Hopefully by than I'll of landed a spot in some big fashion magazine, written a couple enjoyable books, gone to college, gotten married in the temple and made lots and lots of babies, and still doing the exact same things that my mom taught me to do when I was this age. Maybe I'll go travel in the meantime, if i can ever find a hidden treasure map or some great aunt that's died and left me with some spendin' cash. Who knows, maybe I'll be goin on a mission or helpin out the kids in africa or spendin my time with the penguins in antarctica, just trying to get away from everything! Oh and thanks to all of those great people on Facebook, my popularity/loved cup just got filled cause of you guys!

I picked this book out because i didnt really know what to pick out in my Not-So-Stocked school library. Much to my surprise though, i couldnt stop reading it! After going through a very rough and tangled first year of High School, this book struck a chord with me. A very high pitched chord. Plus i learned alot about things like Tom Swifties, writing letters to unborn babies and what the words Perambulation and Masticate mean (Its not dirty, I promise)
Even though i really couldn't relate to the hazing and everything like that, (im too tall and to much of a fake threat for anyone to do that to me, Haha) I enjoyed the authors rendition of a believable high school.

It has brought forward inspirational people from good Christan's like Mother Teresa, who fantasized of a better future where people didnt have to starve to death to fashion legends like Cocoa Chanel, who defined the modern woman. Even though these fantasies took a lot of prayer and money to move along to the end result, they still were worth achieving because its human nature to want to make something in thier own style and to make it permanant. The world wouldnt be how it is today if it werent for people like Billy Bell or Fred? I world I wouldnt want to live in.

Actor of thee week

Edward Norton appeared in Fight Club, The Illusionist (One of my favorite), Pride and Glory, The Painted Veil, The Italian Job (as the believable bad guy), Kingdom of Heaven, and The Incredible Hulk. He is soon to appear in movies like Stone, Motherless Brooklyn, and Rounders 2. He has also Directed, Produced, was a Cinematographer, Editor and was involved in a few soundtracks, so he of course knows a lot about the Business of Movie Making.

ANGELOLOGY! Thats too big isnt it?

Finally!
I just finished a very long, very interesting book titled Angelology. And Let me tell you, this was a hard book to finish, even for me and i read a lot. Its by Danielle Trussoni (who lives in both France and New York, where this story takes place, so I'm super jealous) and it was also on my top thirteen books (i need) to read, i think its was the first one too, so Yay! :-]
First of all, if you don't read a lot, than this is not a book that i would recommend you start with on my list. This is a very hard book to understand. Both in vocabulary and plot, being as it starts off in 1999 in New York City, goes to Paris in the 1930's, than you end up reading a journal of the First Expedition at around 1000 A.D. than head back to Paris, than jolt to New York again with all the Characters from Paris now being recognized as characters. It starts off very disconcertingly with the explanation of how this girl, Sister Evangeline (love that name) ended up as a secretary in an upstate New York Convent. It goes through characters like crazy, traveling throughout the random mumblings of almost random characters, on of which is a Modern Art Scholar, Verlaine, who has no idea of anything involving Angelology, yet is stuck in the middle of it. Next than is one of my favorite characters to look through, Percival Grigori, an Angel with a degenerative disease that has stripped him of his precious wings, Making him an outcast in his powerful family. Well anyways, that's only the first of 3 circles of people that are all involved in this story. If you still don't get it, which i wouldn't blame for, i have horrible explaining skills, than you can just go to the bottom of this page right here - Help me!

Haha, did the cover scare you off?

I really liked the book and it was a good change for me from what i normally read. It also gave me a good sense of what I'd like to be writing when I actually have time (which is never). If you are thinking about reading it, than i say 'Go for It'. Firstly, because it helps broaden your horizons (and your Vocabulary), for example, I now know what words like Anathaeum mean. Also, if your just into Angels or even just studying them for some unknown reason (which is one of the main points i read it), than it is exactly what you need, you'll learn about the Fallen and The Nephilim and even about the Grigori Family, The Lyre, The Book of Generations. you also learn about WWII's effects on Paris, so that's a bonus. Well I'm pooped so if you have any questions please just comment. I wont bite.

OK, first on the list,
i will be starting a new segment for all of those who actually follow my blog, which includes a total of three people, not including my mother (Yahoo!), it is called - The Fashion show!. OK, i know that doesn't sound very interesting, but i have really been getting into fashion photo shoots, not just because my sister did some hair for one, i have been interested in it a long time before that. So I'm going to try to post a picture that i really like to look at and think that you might enjoy. This week for actors, i have brought to attention, the wonderful and extremely talented Mr. Eddie Redmayne.

He has been seen in such films as the 2008 production of Tess of Duberville as the one good guy in Tess' life, Angel Clare, The quirky and obsessive Gordy in 'The Yellow Handkerchief', Osmund in ' Black Death' and Alex in 'Like Minds. He's been in many Elizabethan era movies such as 'Elizabeth I', 'The other Boleyn Girl', and 'Elizabeth: The Golden Age'. He's now airing in the very drama-ish drama 'The Pillars of the Earth' as Jack Jackson, an artist son of a wanted witch who falls for the witty Lady Aliena, who already has many suitors, including Jack's half brother. Oh yeah, and he won a Tony for his supporting role in a British-turned-American Broadway Play, Red and before his acting career, was a model for London Magazine Burberry, alongside Alex Pettyfer, so yeah, this kid is very busy and he's only 28.

He was born Jan. 6 1982 in London, UK. He was named Outstanding Newcomer at the London Evening Standard Awards 2004 and the London Critic's Circle Theatre Awards 2005 for his performance in Edward Albee's 'The Goat' or 'Who is Sylvia' with Jonathan Pryce at the Almeida Theatre, Islington.

OK, so this is story is probably going to give you lack of faith in your local area supermarket. I had asked my dad to go get me some crab salad because he was going to town anyways. So he brings it back, i devour it to death because I'm starving and am watching Pillars of the Earth, so i wanted something to enjoy it with. When i get to the bottom, i find a noodle. Only than do i realize that the canister states that i am in fact eating chicken Caesar salad. Now i am lost to what they wanted me to eat in the first place! Okay guys, just wanted to inform about the host cast i was going to create. I just figured out that i read that book so long ago, i don't even remember who the people are! I do remember Melanie and what the whole stories about, but i cant remember who anyone else is supposed to be, so i think I'm just going to have to reread the thing. O.k it does sound like I'm mad about this, but I'm really not. I just have literally four other books to finish and i have no idea when I'm going to have time. Is anyone listening? Anyways, I am now in the process of added to my first chapter since i realized its only about four pages long. Plus i need to add some more scenes that i just barely thought of. GOSH, how am going to fit this into school too? Can i just be graduated already?
OK, on other happier, non-whinny news, i just watched two episodes of the Pillars of the Earth from Starz, and I LOVE IT! Its an eight hour drama (based off of a book that i really want to read!) that involves a master builder and his family as he tries to find work building a cathedral. Theres also lots of drama involving a witch lady and her son, and some really bad priest dudes and a really good monk dude (Prior Phillip be his name) whose played by Matthew McFadden (On of my fav Actors) and lots of stuff involving the kings of the land. Its so awesome. Anyways, you just need to watch it to really understand what I'm talking about. I'd just like to know. It also has Ian Mcshane, who is total creeper in this even though he does it with grace (that sounded weird), Eddie Redmayne (who i literally screamed at, watching this all alone in the computer room at midnight) I love his character to death, he's just the most awesome guy ever! oh and there is also Sam Claflin, who is going to be in the next Pirates of the Caribbean, Donald Sutherland, who played next to Matthew in Pride and Prejudice and that guy who played the bad A dude in A knights tale, even though he's really good in this. I'm just warning you, i did have to skip a few parts in this, it was nothing serious, just stuff that i knew i'd better not see. It is rated Mature, so i would watch out for shows like that, but than again, Eddie Redmayne makes up for all the crap i have to skip. BEASTLY!!! by Alex Flinn

Hey guys, I just finished a reeeaaallly good book called Beastly by Alex Flinn. It's, as you can probably guess by the name, a modern day retelling of Beauty and the Beast. There making a movie out of it, and even though im not much a fan of Vanessa Hudgens or Mary-Kate Olsen, I think Alex Pettyfer's hotness will gladly make up for both of them. I really wish i had the technology to cut out her face and put in mine. Thats kind of creepy isn't it? Ill just shut up and give you the review.

After growing up watching beauty and the beast, the Disney version, i hadnt really thought about where actuall story came from. Actually the only real reason i was drawn to this book before hearing more about the origins of the story, was, of course, who was going to play the beast. (do i need to point to the left of you? <----) But after reading it and watching the old french version, ive fallen for the story. The book is a little more for tweens, but i think older woman would fall for it too if they just got past the language, its not bad language, even though it does mention hands in the pants at some parts, its a very teenish/tweenish languaged novel (does that even make sense?). Its very sentimentally written with feeling, which i honestly love, but not enought to give it an A+, even though the story line and use of location is very well used. im Giving it an A. I'll probably be back with the movie review, so watch out for that even though it doesnt come out till like march, but im pretty sure time will fly. There is also some links below to check it out.

If you haven't heard about this new series of cool vampire books, than I'm just sorry to report that you are a very boring person. Yes, the stuff I'm talking about is called Blue Bloods, Normal people. I haven't gotten the chance to read them yet, since i have about twenty billion other books to start and finish, but they are defiantly in my top ten of a rich, spoiled teenage groups that live in Manhattan, since there's about twenty of those. There from There is, i think now Five books in this series,

The first is 'Blue Bloods' than it's 'Masquerade' than next is 'Revelations' and pushing ahead farther is 'The Van Alen Legacy' and last, but probably not worst is 'Misguided Angel. There is also 'Keys to the Repository' which is a booklet made up of diary entries, letters and other documentation describing the history of Blue Bloods and where they came from. Plus theres a Blue Bloods Novella called Bloody Valentine. Can't wait to check em out.

The Crazy Future in 'Life as We Knew It' by Susan Beth Pfeffer

I just got done with Life as We Knew It by Susan Beth Pfeffer and I have to say, it wasn't what i expected from reading the other book reviews and side cover on the book. Other than it being very repetitive and a bit boring at parts (even though that's probably what the author wants you to feel to finally get your heart racing at the precipice of the story), it was a very heartfelt and emotional book that really got you thinking about the situations you get in if the world was ever coming to an end. Here's a quick look at what happened:
This end of the world survival story is from the diary entries of Miranda, just a normal girl with normal likes and dislikes. She fights with her mother, desperately tries to keep her friends together after the death of one of them and online chats about her favorite Olympic skater who's from her home town. When news comes through that an once in a lifetime asteroid is going to hit the moon, its barely even mentioned in her diary except for the grumblings of dislike caused by all the homework that her teachers are giving her based on the moon. Soon after that the electricity is only rarely on, half the kids at school have left and her mother takes her on a wild rampage for food at the supermarket where everyone only has a clue of what their grabbing because of the electricity outage. After her brother returns from college safely, the schools announce that they are closing early because of lack of food supplies.

This is a gripping novel that will definitely make you feel hungered for civilization yourself after reading it in one sitting. I plan on reading the next ones, The Dead and The Gone, from the point of seventeen year old Alex Morales and his experiences in 'after affected' New York City with his two sisters. And the Third book, The World we live in, Alexe's and Miranda's love story.
Anyways, im realy excited to see Alexe's side of it.

I recently just finished The Time Travelers Wife. Just let me say, except for some middle parts that i actually enjoyed a little, only hippies and hippies dogs should ever read this retch of a book. It wasted my time and as a future contributor to this slowly dying society of passionate readers and creative entrepreneurs, i of course cant just be have my time being wasted (That sounded a bit cocky didn't it?) Anyways, i cant just be lounging around when i'm 18, waiting for something to magically happen to my future self without any help from my younger. I gotst to prepare for the ever changing future. The end was probably the absolute worst conclusion to a story i have ever heard and adding all that crap that the author did, would just shock your grandmother until she had a heart attack. I don't see the reason to use such horribly messed up language that i heard coming from the mouth of that book, much less see what kind of a point your trying to make. The only reason i ever tried to follow it through was because i saw the movie first, and didn't think it would be too bad. I rate it a C- only because i liked the character of Henry and saw his struggle of not being able to control his time travel as almost romanticised throughout the book. But, either because of my inability to see the awesomeness of the modernists of the 90's, or simply because i just wouldn't get it because i wasn't born back then, i couldn't really fantasize the 'before my era' obsession with bands backs than. I guess its just not in my cards, loved the movie though, fantastic. Rachael McAdam's and Eric Bana are the perfect couple. It made me cry, so i give it a A

Hello there fellow bookworms,
I just barely finished a thriller book that, when i picked it up for the first time in the library, i didnt think was going to be at all what it really was. Let me try to make that less confusing for you, i actually judged a book by its cover. I know, shame on me, but atleast when i was making my pile to bring home that day i picked it up for the second time I thought that maybe I should just give it a chance. So i did, and even though i kept rereading the first chapter a couple times trying to understand, after i got passed figuring out the characters, i liked it.

Its about a boy named Danny that lives with his guardian, the secratary at his school, Phillipa and her cat, Islington (which is just the wierdest name for a cat). Phillipa desperatly wants to get out of the city, while Danny, who has lived his whole life in the city, desperatly wants to seperate himself from Phillipa and have a little independance, decides that it would be fine to go live in the country in a rundown cottage miles from civilization (Crazy) (and if your wondering about school, apparantly if you pass your O levels (whats with that?), you can choose to take a year off, which is so unfair. Stupid british people) So after a very funny scene with the cat on the train, they arrive at the town and wait for the car guy to come and take them up to Blackbriar, but when he doesnt show up, they start talking to the locals, but whenever they mention that they live at Blackbriar, they instantly become very shady.

when they finally make up the miles of unmarked and scary road, they see that Blackbriar really is a creepy house. He finds names on a door going to the cellar all dated back from the 1600's except for one person named Mary Peachy and a strange wooden doll. After that he visits the Tumuli, and if your wondering what a Tumuli is, i was too, heres the wikipedia site:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tumuli and meets a strange girl named Lark. Youll have to read it to know the rest. If you really let yourself, you get kind of creeped out by this book imagining having to sleep in that place where theres no one around for miles. Of course, since it was William Sleators first book from '72, it still has some very poor writing in it, so i wouldnt recommend it for the writing, only for the storyline and characters. I give this book a 'B' because i couldnt put it down.

Since ive been thinking about writing this blog for quite some time now, i have been accumulating favorite actors for a while now. Im just going to start at the first and add week by week. And this is based on the actor and the talents that i see from them, not the movies they play in.

Bright Star By Jane Campion, its about Poet John Keats and his love story with the girl next door Fanny -

Why? - Because he used the role of passion in John Keats life to his advantage and very well might i add. This movie showed just how life should be now a days, we hurry things up too much in this day and age, and just like the Italians, or so i hear, we should learn to take a breather and just enjoy the beauties that surround us instead of trying to please everyone around us.

Next is Brideshead Revisited where he plays as Sebastian -

Why? - Even though some people can take Sabastians character as gay is this series, i think its much more deep than that and the actor captured that essence in in portrayal of him. Im not saying that the character wasnt gay, by any means, just that i saw how deep his character really was. He was defianatly more forced to like the church at a young age, and like most kids, he grew to hate what he was forced to love and in a way he was emotionally and mentally abused by his mother which defianatly led to a love of drinking to ease the pain. Thankfully though he had a loving sister. I only watched some of the movie before it got just a little to much for me, but, i mean this kid can act! He for sure has it in his cards to be handed some pretty important roles just for future referance. He was given a gift to look at a role, instantly know what kind of person that he's gonna play and understand the difficulties they have been through! I hope his kind of talent stays around for a while.

And Lastly, the movie that was probably his best, even though ive only seen bits and pieces of this one from Trailers since its rated R, is Perfume, the story of a murderer. But just through that little of a view, i can see that i absolutely love him in this. I also found one of my new favorite songs by Natalie Merchant called My Skin from a video about this movie. Well anyways, I only watched about the prievews and some end parts that werent at all bad, but this is a super wierd movie. I would not recommend it to anyone younger than atleast 40, and even than, you might get nightmares.
From what i have read, Ben Whishaw is one of the most brilliant actors of our generation yet, not just personally, but worldwide.

One last thing id like to clear up, these actor of the week blogs are not about the movies, there about the actors. I choose certain actors for thier ability to act, not the ability to get into my favorite movies and i try to give them fair chances. Thanks for Reading!

Since im a born writer, i write. Actually quite a lot for someone my age and i have just finished my first chapter ever! I have no idea if its good or horrible or even extremely boring based on the subjects that i write about, but after about twenty differant rough drafts, i finished about four pages of the first scene introducing my guy character, Tristan. After doing virtually no research on any subjects, i finally just consulted my imaginary part of my brain and just wrote down what i thought would sound good in a book that i would be reading, and some parts do sound good, i've just read it so many times over that i think im losing my ability to diferentiate between something that is good and horribly wretched. I dont know, i wish i had a picture to show you how exactly i see it in my head, but i did find what i thought would be a great place for Tristan to of grown up! I guess he's kind of my romeo or edward or even the lead singer from The Strokes, except that he's scottish. And an Angel and a Scientist. This is where my strange obsessions have led me. Hopefully everything works out for him. I really just do what my imagination tells me to. Good Luck Tristan. Hopefully i don't have a dream of you being horribly stampeded to death by some runaway horses and absolutely have to write it down.

The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner

I just got finished with a little book called The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner. It was everything i dreamed of since i heard there was going to be a Eclipse Novella based on the character that i imagined and read about in the third installment of the Twilight Series. Bree Tanner is a smart, but sometimes too passionate (in my head anyways) teenage girl that was turned into a Vampire by the leader, frighteningly named 'Her' and her second in command, Riley. It startes out great, and ends even better. The ending was probably my favorite part since i knew what was going to happen and it just ended like it did with her closing her eyes. I dream of my novels ending in such an intense way like that, that even when the book ends, the feelings are still there. Its pretty much what i thrive on. Oh yeah and it was cool to see what the Cullens were doing when it wasnt in the perspective of bella, i mean in jacobs view it was pretty awesome to see what was going on in there heads, but seeing through the eyes of someone who didnt even know them was a dream. I applaude Stephanie Meyer now and forever, i have been since the first book came out, but this just makes my applauding even better. I dont think youll get it if you dont read those Twilight novels, but it would be a great one to read first off, than read the rest in Bella's perspective. Five Stars and a High Five.

This one REALLY interests me. I was first of all wondering what the word Fuast meant, so of course, being the word worm i am, I looked it up and found out that its the name of another story. An old German story about an old Knowledge seeker who loses all happiness in learning, so he sells his soul to the devil in exchange for all the knowledge and worldliness of the Earth. He converses to the Devil through an evil angel name Mephistopheles or Mephisto for short. I think theres also a movie based on the same principles, called the Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus.

Summer, Softball and Sunburns

Hey guys, i just got back from a Softball Tournament with my Family. I wish I had taken some photos but my mom forgot her camera and shes really the picture takerer in the Fam. My sister was the one playing, her team got fourth out of some very challenging eleven Teams, some much bigger and experianced than our poor little rag tag group, so id say it was a very well spent weekend. My niece Jentri also came up, Shes too adorable, and i found that she has learned quite a lot since last i saw her. Now she says Hey you!, Juice ( She says Jush), All the basics like mom, dad, grampa, gramma, No! (that seems to be her favorite) plus she is very good at explaning what she wants with sound effects. We were showing her the water spout yesterday in the hot tub and when she wanted it again later she commenced with grabbing my face with her tiny hands, looking into my eyes like she had something really important to say, and making a hole with her fingers and making water go through em. Lol. Gosh i already miss her. Well we all have sunburns just from sitting in like 70 degree weather, we werent really used to above 40. haha. Poor Taylor played 4 games yesterday and 3 games the day before that, having to wake up at like seven to go to practice.If you have some Aloe Vera, please send it ASAP. We have Girls Camp This week also and than another Softball tournament, so please pray for me that i wont kill someone from sleep deprivation. or T.V. deprivation, or a deadly mixture of both.

So since its summer and i have lots of time to waste when
im not working im going to be making some lists. One is
going to be my summer reading list. Right at the moment
im reading about Marie Antionette in The Journey by

Hi, Im currently kickin myself at the moment for procrastinating everything that i needed to do and watching my netflix instant movie disc. I probobly should work out a schedule around my T.V. watching since nothing can bother me once im deep in a hollywood sitcom. I should quit, but i just get so involved, sometimes screaming at the poor T.V. Maybe i should just be a sitcom writer. That seems like a lot of fun, with its fair share of kicks and giggles. And I'd get to meet some actors, which ive been in a few plays myself ( 5th grade christmas spiecal - elf # 6) and find it a lot of fun to act out scenes that i know other people have put thier heart and soul into. But i dont think im that creative yet. Hi there fellow blogger and stranger, You might want to know why your here at this dinky little blog, and ill tell you, THIS is why :
I am a girl with many dreams and ideas and the spunk to make them come true! I love fashion eras and era style books and era style Photography and Art and Thats right, i daydream about living in Jane Austen Novels, but I always have to have lotion around because i hate it when my hands are dry and i cant punch because i always have to be airborn when striking and i always pick Yoshi for on SuperSmash Bros just because he can eat poeple and poop them out as eggs, but i am determined to make this blog very interesting, like a 7 layered dip except that it will be like a 8 layered dip, just becuase i sprinkled it. So There you go. This blog is going to be the equivilant to an 8 layered dip. Only better, i promise! even thought i dont know what could be better than an 8 layered dip, but ill try my darndest! :)
